John has been working in the electrical industry for over 40 years. He is a qualified electrician and worked as an electrical contractor for a number of years before joining RECI in 1992 where he worked for 22 years as an inspector and 6 years as chief inspector. John has sat on NSAI/ETC/TC 02 technical committee for the past 10 years (this committee is responsible for the development, maintenance, and revision of I.S. 10101). John is currently lecturing phase 4 and 6 electrical apprentices in Dundalk Institute of Technology.

Darren is a qualified electrician since 2006. He has a level 6 certificate in electrical and electronic systems. He has experience in many and varying aspects of the trade and has been a Registered Electrical Contractor for the past 10 years.

Jonathan is a qualified electrician. He also holds a Bachelor of Engineering Technology Degree BEng(Tech) in Electrical Services Engineering from Dublin Institute of Technology (now TUD), and a Master of Science (MSc) in Renewable Energy and Energy Management from Ulster University. Jonathan has worked as an electrician, an electrical design engineer, a standards officer and is currently an electrical safety inspector. He also sits on NSAI/ETC/TC 02 and is a member of Engineers Ireland.

Shane has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Applications from Dublin City University and is currently enrolled in a Master’s Degree in Multilingual Web Communication and UX Design from the University of Strasbourg. Shane illustrated all the figures and images within the guidebook.
